Planned to open in 2027–2028, the VIA Rapid Green Line is designed to serve more riders more efficiently along one of the city’s busiest travel corridors.
Overview
Planned to open in 2027-2028 the VIA Rapid Green Line project will provide fast, reliable service. The new bus line will run north and south along San Pedro Avenue, from the San Antono International Airport to downtown, and on to Brooks Transit Center. It will connect riders to key residential areas, job centers, schools and cultural landmarks.
Enhancing Mobility for Everyone
VIA Rapid Green Line plans include several infrastructure improvements to make travel smoother and safer for everyone on the corridor.
- 4 miles of new or repaired sidewalks
- 20+ intersection upgrades
- 26 new bus stations
- 66 bus friendly traffic signals
Supporting Equitable Growth and Development
The VIA Rapid Green Line will support access to opportunity and economic development along the San Pedro corridor by connecting key residential areas, job centers, schools, cultural landmarks, and entertainment districts.
